Every article on Metaexplorer carries the name of the person who researched and wrote it. The site publishes nothing under a house byline, an editorial team label or a pseudonym. One named person is responsible for each page, and that person is described below.

Each article is written to be understood on a first reading, and each sentence carries one idea. Every article opens with a summary of what it covers and what it does not cover.

A distributed ledger is a record kept as identical copies by several independent participants rather than in one central system. Self-custody is the arrangement in which the account holder alone holds the private keys, rather than a company holding them. Both subjects are explained as concepts, and no article recommends a product or gives financial advice.

Every factual claim is checked against a named public document, such as a protocol specification or a published standard. Sources are named in plain words inside the text, rather than by hyperlink, so a reader can recognise the origin of a statement. Corrections are made openly.

How an article is prepared

The same five steps are followed for every article on Metaexplorer.

  1. A subject is chosen, and the limits of the article are set before drafting begins.
  2. The public documents that describe the subject are read in full, and the passages that support each claim are recorded.
  3. A first draft is written in short sentences, and each technical term is defined where it first appears.
  4. Every claim in the draft is checked against the recorded passage, and any claim that cannot be traced is removed.
  5. The article is read once more for plain language, then published with the name of the author and a review date.

The steps are repeated whenever an article is reviewed again, so that the record behind each claim stays current.

What this site does not cover

The limits of the editorial role are stated plainly, so that a reader knows what to expect from each article.

  • Named products, named companies and named networks are not ranked, rated or compared with one another.
  • Comparisons stay at the level of concepts, such as a distributed ledger compared with a traditional database.
  • No article provides account support, and no article answers an individual technical question.
  • No article reports market movement or trading data, because the site publishes reference material rather than reporting.

These limits are settled editorial policy, not a temporary state of the site. They keep each explanation general, and they keep the responsibility of the named author clear.
